Privacy Policy
FitScan ("we", "us", "the app") is a body composition and progress tracking app for iOS, published by Raxx Beats Studios LLC. We are committed to collecting as little personal data as possible. This policy describes what the app does with your information.
Data stored on your device
All of the following are stored locally on your device using the operating system's standard storage and never leave it unless you explicitly send a photo for AI analysis (see below):
- Your profile (name, age, height, weight, fitness goal, equipment).
- Body scan results, weekly check-in entries, notes and weight history.
- Progress photos you capture or import.
- Workout logs, food entries, water intake and scan credit balance.
You can erase all of this at any time by tapping Reset All Data in the app's Profile tab or by deleting the app from your device.
Data sent for AI analysis
When you tap Start Scan, save a weekly check-in that includes a progress photo, or scan a food item, the app resizes the image and sends the image bytes — along with basic context (your weight, the week number, your previous photo if applicable) — to our analysis endpoint hosted on Vercel. That endpoint forwards the image to Anthropic's Claude API and returns a written analysis to your device.
- Images are transmitted over HTTPS only.
- We do not store images on our servers after analysis.
- Anthropic's API processes the image to generate the analysis. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- No name, email, account ID or device identifier is attached to the request.
AI-generated content
Scan grades, body fat estimates, muscle/posture/symmetry scores, food macros, written analyses and workout plans are AI-generated. They are estimates derived from a photo and basic profile data — not measurements. FitScan is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns.
Purchases
Scan credits are sold as one-time consumable in-app purchases through Apple. We use RevenueCat to verify receipts and unlock credits on your device. RevenueCat receives the standard App Store transaction information (anonymous user ID, product ID, transaction date) but no personal data from us. There is no subscription and nothing auto-renews.
What we do NOT do
- We do not require an account, email or password.
- We do not run advertising or share data with ad networks.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your data.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
- We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, etc.).
Permissions the app requests
- Camera — to capture body scan, weekly check-in and food photos.
- Photo Library — to import an existing photo instead of taking a new one.
- Notifications (optional) — to send daily training and weekly check-in reminders. You can disable any time in the app or iOS Settings.
Each permission is requested only at the moment you choose to use the relevant feature, and you can revoke any of them in iOS Settings at any time.
Children
FitScan is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
